Bangladesh Secures 10 Medals at INTERNATIONAL ROBOT OLYMPIAD!

Bangladesh achieved remarkable success at the 26th International Robot Olympiad, winning a total of 10 medals, including two golds. The prestigious event, held from January 17 to 20 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO) in Busan, South Korea, saw participation from competitors representing 26 countries.

The 10-member Bangladesh team secured two gold, four silver, and four bronze medals, according to an announcement shared on the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad. The winners received their medals during the Olympiad’s closing ceremony on Tuesday.

The gold medalists for Bangladesh were Arietti Islam of the Anari team in the Creative Category Junior Group and Namiya Rojat Nubala of the Seriously Clueless team in the Creative Movie Category Senior Group.

Silver medals were awarded to Arietti Islam (Anari team) in the Physical Computing Junior Group, Nusaiba Tajrin Tanisha (Zeroth team), Priyanti Das (Team Shifu), and the Saf.AI team, consisting of Hasin Ishrak Chowdhury Taha, AZM Imtenan Kabir, and Abrar Abir, in the Creative Category Senior Group. The Saf.AI team members collectively earned their medal.

Bronze medals went to Nafia Basar Suhani (The Screw Loose team) in the Physical Computing Junior Group, Nusaiba Tajrin Tanisha (Zeroth team), and Namiya Rojat Nubala (Seriously Clueless team) in the Physical Computing Senior Group. The Saf.AI team, comprising Hasin Ishrak Chowdhury Taha, AZM Imtenan Kabir, and Abrar Abir, also won a bronze medal in the Creative Movie Senior Group as a team.

The journey to this achievement began with the 7th Bangladesh Robot Olympiad, conducted in three phases during September and October 2024, organized by the Bangladesh Open Source Network. A 10-member team was selected based on their performance and eligibility and underwent a rigorous two-month, 21-session high-performance training camp to prepare for the international competition.

Md. Nahid Islam, Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, NDC, and Mohammad Anwar Uddin, Director General of the ICT Division, extended their congratulations to the team for their exceptional performance on the global stage.
